A bit too much repetition when it comes to his inner monologue and the alliteration of his name that comes alongside that.

did the quotation marks get dumped in the sea with the bodies?

license plate part was funny

book overall just wasn’t very thrilling

also, how doakes was handled as a character just felt really… off. could have been a lot better. and
the ending part with him just didn’t sit right.

As a novel about a serial killer, it falls short, however, Dexter's internal monologues are usually quite funny and are the most relevant part of the novel.

Brilliant, I love the stylistic writing and you get a great feel for the character. Very satisfying read.

Felt much more readable than the first book. Still uses lots of alliteration. Dexter comes across as funny instead of just annoying.

As the first book, this one was very easy to read and it went by fast. Its very dark, very graphic,  but easy to follow. If murders, serial killers, and graphic gore is your thing, then i recommend this book. I found it much better than the first one and with a better plot.
