Typical of a Sandra Brown plot, but still a fun read.
slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No

The plot was amazing, the dialogue was incredible, and the characters were really interesting, but the way the romance is written gives me whiplash.

Generally interesting story with a complex plot.
mysterious medium-paced

At the 25th anniversary of the Pegasus bombing Kerra Bailey, a local reporter wants to interview the national hero Major Franklin Trapper, who saved along with others a 5-year-old girl from the building. The Major though had refused all interviews the past few years and Kerra’s only hope to meet the Major was through his son, John Trapper ,an ex ATF officer who now ran a detective agency. After the interview an attempt was made at Kerra and the Major’s life which led to a non stop action with murder, kidnapping , FBI , Texas Rangers and a shady lawyer all thrown in the mix.

This was a great romantic suspense by Sandra Brown that I finished in a few hours. It has a lots of twists and turns with a few surprises at the end. The sarcastic banter between Trapper and Kerra along with the sizzling romance and with non-stop actin makes this book quite an entertaining read that I would recommend to all mystery lovers.

Many thanks to Grand Central Publishing& NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest and fair review.

3 1/2 stars.

I was in between ARC’s and decided to do something crazy and read a mystery. I haven’t read much other than romance for LONG time, so this was a change for me.

Kerra Bailey is an up and coming journalist in Dallas. She’s trying to snag an interview with Major Franklin Trapper, a man who was hailed a hero 25 years before when he carried a young child out of the Pegasus Hotel in Dallas after it had been bombed. She has her reasons for wanting the interview, which just added to the mystery. So she goes to the one person she thinks may help her – the Major’s son, John Trapper.

Kerra doesn’t realize that Trapper (the son, as he’s called throughout the book) has had a falling out with the Major and they don’t speak. Kerra gives Trapper something that makes him change his mind and deciding to help – and it’s juicy!

I forgot that mystery books are LONG. This book kind of dragged in few spots. But the mystery itself was good, if not a bit far fetched.

I liked both the main characters. Trapper especially. He’s was whip smart and very clever. Kerra was a woman was had a lot of integrity and wanted to do what right and ethical. The Major was an interesting character, as was his best friend, and Sheriff Glenn Addison.

Overall, this was a good story and I would recommend it.

Seeing Red
by Sandra Brown, Victor Slezak (Narrator)
The Queen of romantic suspense wins again! A good read with all the thrills I have come to expect from Ms Brown. The narrator, Victor Slezak, was great and made the story come alive.
