I liked the story a lot. It kept me interested even if there was gore (but I think that was to be expected). I was glad to learn more about the characters here and I can't wait to learn more again. 4.5 out of 5 stars. Worth the quick read.

The Queen's Army tells the story of how Wolf, or Z, became a mutant soldier for the Lunar Queen. The short story sheds light on Wolf's early days and his transformation, along with some information about the mutant army and how they were trained.

Overall, it was a nice plus to the series, with a fast pace and good writing.

Interesting glimpse into Wolf's childhood and some potentially gut-kicking moments with his brother that I think would have hit harder if we had gotten any hints of lingering positive connection between them in Scarlet.

This was alright, just like the other novellas in the series. There's something about Marissa Meyer's writing that makes me feel very distant from the story.

I loved this short story because it’s all about Wolf. Enough said. *awkward laugh* I found it really interesting like come on who wouldn’t want to know more about Z? *snaps fingers in Z form* I’m sorry but I laughed when I learned that Wolf used to be called Z. Like aww how cute is Z for a nickname though?

Another short story, but I just really love Marissa Meyer's world. This one takes place between [b:Cinder|11235712|Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)|Marissa Meyer|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1317794278s/11235712.jpg|15545385] and [b:Scarlet|13206760|Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2)|Marissa Meyer|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1342485529s/13206760.jpg|18390691]. And I found it a really interesting look at the Queen's Army (haha shocking since that's the title!) being that it's one of the focuses of the second book. I enjoyed this background look at it. Very short, very too the point, a good read if you enjoy this universe.

A perfect introduction to Wolf and his brutal initiation to Queen Levana’s service. Despite his hellish training, you can tell that he’s not a fully broken automaton. I can’t wait to see Wolf defy the queen by joining team Cinder and fall in love with Scarlet!
