Good book, I alway like stories about women going supposedly insane but you catch - quite early on- that the narrator is unreliable and indeed insane. The name of the illness is never mentioned but I suspect schizophrenia? Unfortunately, I couldn’t link with the deeper meaning of the changing faces except with the example of growing older and with new found values, changing faces.
