Not a satisfying ending to the story as I was hoping. Unlike The Selection through The One, these two books (The Heir and The Crown) didn't have the same impact as the first 3.

It was a quick resolution ending with a lot of build-up that lead nowhere. I liked the story but feel like these last 2 books weren't needed.

Overall, I enjoyed the story but felt it was a bit unnecessary and rushed.

What a hot mess these last two books were. Just so unnecessary in more ways than one. The author clearly didn’t even want to write these books and she shouldn’t have. Marid betraying Eadlyn makes no sense, I know August and Georgia (Marid’s parents) had their differences with Maxon and America (Eadlyn’s parents) but they were all friends at one point?? And her choosing Erik… I saw it coming but like when did it click for her that she loved him? Did I miss that chapter? Thank god I’m done this series, god awful. At least these short books contributed to my reading goal.

This nook had a REALLY unexpected twist but it was sooo amazing. Seeing the lives of everyone in the original series and their children was the best part of it all. I really loved it.

I was never a huge fan of Eadlyn, but I had read the rest of the series, so I wanted to finish this one just to know how it ends. In the end she does find happiness (which is good, I reckon). Most plot holes/questions are answered and the story line moved at a good pace. I liked this book, but I didn't love it. I would still recommend this series though. 3 out of 5 stars.
