A very wordy but classic story. I loved how Dickens set the scene and some of the characters are just so despicable but enjoyable to read about. There were many parts in the story that are not in the film which did add some depth to the book but it was still 100 pages longer than it needed to be. However I am still glad that I have read this book and I have rekindled my love for the film too

I'm sure the story is very good, there's a reason it's considered a classic. But the writing style is just not something I could get through easily.

I love Dickens’ passive sarcastic voice. His attention to the attitudes toward the poor, and the unconscious demands for their gratitude, are well written. The story was fun and exciting.
