‘Therapist who doesn’t have their own shit together’ is one of my favourite types of main character. Loved this.

I want to preface this review by saying I read this book in less than 36 hours, I am personally in love with Laura Kay, and I cried multiple times reading it. However…

The character depth was lacking! I felt minimal investment in the “who’s it going to be” moment at the end, because I ultimately didn’t care enough about any of the contenders. Which is a shame, because the trope itself was beautifully executed.

Some aspects of the queer child parental relationship were very moving, and largely responsible for the tears, but I just wanted more, I suppose.

A beautiful cleanse after Intermezzo, though.
