What a beautiful celebration of the strengths, fallacies, and paradoxes of womanhood!

The Fruit of Our Thorns is a collection of short stories that cleverly uses the imagery of a rose to place its female protagonists at the center of tales full of resilience, discovery, and redemption.

My two favorites are Wind and Rain & True Love Scars. Wind and Rain reads almost like a poem, strongly emoting grief, anger, and injury. I am drawn to its darkness and captured by its haunting radiance of justified revenge. True Love Scars honors deep friendships and reminds me of the power of propinquity in the face of adversity.

Whether you’re looking for a story of first love or a chilling tale of a lost soul, this collection will not disappoint. It takes a talented writer for a reader to see herself in every story, especially when they are told in different voices and with varying perspectives. I can’t recommend enough and look forward to reading more from this author!
