Some books are hard to review without giving out spoilers. This is one. I will leave it with I read this in one day. It did pull me in, but there were plot twists and characters that kept this from being rated higher than 3 stars.

I don't know how to rate this. Listening to the last 40% of it last night and didn't really feel too surprised, which I didn't expect to with this domestic thriller very much but I did expect some sort of plot twist to catch me by surprise. Instead, I sort of felt nothing when the last twist came into play. And even thinking back on it now, I still feel nothing toward this book. Which is neither good nor bad, as I prefer to feel some way to say I recommend it or I don't.

Alice was an alright character if you want to read about a typical businesswoman who runs a company. I did feel bad for her early on in the book for her treatment by an old acquaintance, it was disgusting, and then on top of that her daughter hit her head at school when pushed down by a bully. So she was dealing with both that and what happened with the man. But as the story progressed, I didn't care much about her dead first husband, or how she worried her current one was cheating on her.

Beth's chapters, I couldn't have cared less about after the first few and felt as though there might've been a way to condense them a little to make them less drawn out and nearing the point of not even being bothered except for a few details important to the story.

A few good twists and turns in this book, however the ending was predictable and fell a little short. It was also easy to make the connecting points toward the middle of the book.

I loved The Other Woman and was absolutely thrilled when I received this ARC. Well, Sandie Jones has done it again. This domestic psychological thriller had me at the first chapter and I just couldn’t put it down. It is a fast-paced story of grief, hardship, friendship, and love. There were some parts that were somewhat predictable but it mostly kept me guessing and was a page-turner to the end. I’m sure it will be a beat seller when it is released in June.

Can’t decide if the writing itself was bad or the character of Alice was bad. Who is that stupid? How did she not question anyone about anything?? Even at the end after Beth says, “Your Nathan is my Thomas”, she still needs it explained to her. So hard to finish so many chapters because of the character’s decision making.

It did seem to go on a tad too long but it did catch me off guard a few times. It kept me guessing and overall I did enjoy it.
