This collection of Frida’s personal writings and paintings combines well with the introduction, final comments, and translations to give readers a more intimate insight into this remarkable artist’s life.

I took a very long time reading this, not only is it a hefty book it's also so deeply personal to Kahlo it almost feels like an invasion of privacy in places. The pages in the first section of the book are so vivid, colourful and personal it can really take your breath away, and the back translations are worthy of reading over and over again. I've always enjoyed her works and admired her as an activist, queer icon & as an artist and this has just amplified these feelings.

I feel weird rating a diary, but I love how she writes and draws. She's such an interesting and inspiring artist.
