This is my first Steinbeck novel and I picked it up without having any idea about the genre or story.
It shows how everyone has a dream and yet there are very few who are able to attain it even if they work for it.
The friendship between Lennie and George is really admirable since it's constantly tested by different factors.

Wow such a great book but it's truly got me messed up
George killing Lennie isnt the ending i was expecting at first i figured maybe thered be a chase and gun death but no

Lennies such a nice character he means well and George and him do feel like they care about each other
which makes the ending worse especially when George tells him to remember he was never mad at him

Short fast and devastating three words for this book but good

This is a good read but also a truly hard and painful experience. As you go through the book you have to ask yourself these deep grievances and what you think was right. Why did he stay with him. Was what George did at the end what needed to be done. Was it truly merciful to Lennie?

This is a dark and emotional novella by Steinbeck. The Great Depression was a difficult time for many and Steinbeck manages to capture that in a short amount of time - the struggles, hopes, friendships, and more. It is brilliantly written to attach you to the story quickly painting a picture you can easily envision. It also provides a lot of food for thought and discussion. I am glad I revisited this tale that I hadn’t read since high school.
