So predictable and boring. A cool concept but no stakes and all the romantic scenes were just cringey. Really enjoyed the cultural practices intertwined and explained without feeling overly-done.

Nisha Sharma’s Marriage & Masti, the final book in her Shakespeare-inspired series, is an absolute delight that wraps up the trilogy with flair. This clever and swoony retelling of Twelfth Night is set against the backdrop of high-stakes NYC finance and features a heartfelt friends-to-lovers romance that evokes the charm of a Taylor Swift song. Nisha expertly combines romance tropes like “she falls first but he falls harder” with a touch of a (fake-but-real) marriage to create a story brimming with swoon-worthy and laugh-out-loud moments. The characters feel like a second family, making it bittersweet to say goodbye to their adventures. True to form, Nisha weaves in her South Asian heritage and themes of empowerment, sending a powerful message to brown women about maintaining high standards and knowing their worth. The novel’s blend of romance, sisterly love, and nods to Bollywood makes it both heartwarming and remarkable, showcasing Nisha’s growth and passion in her writing.

This series is so delightful!

I loved Veera and really related to her insecurities - with feeling like Deepak's second choice and feeling left behind by her friends - and with her strength and bullshit detector with her and Sana's dad.

I was so happy that she believed Deepak over Sana regarding her father's attempt to block Deepak from getting the CEO position. Sana's blindspot there really got on my nerves. It was hard to sympathize with her when she was being willfully ignorant to their father's motives and Deepak's actions proving that he was acting not only in Veera's best interests, but hers as well.

Light fun read. Has many problems plot wise and pretty predictable, but entertaining enough and kept me invested. Allowed me to turn my brain off and lose myself.

Oh my god this series is so fantastic! I loved it so much, every single book I have adored. This was such a perfect ending to the book, wrapping up all the characters storylines so perfectly. I loved Veera and Deepak, their love was so true and pure, I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole way through. I love a man who is feral for his wife. As always I loved the relationships the main characters have outside of their romance, with their friends and family. It makes them feel less one-dimensional and gives them more body as characters (Also who doesn't love some complex family dynamics?) The way that Veera came into her own throughout this book was so brilliant to read. I will always recommend this series to anyone wanting romance recs, because it is so fantastic!

Twelfth Night retelling in Indian cultures. I loved this so much. I'm not a fan of friends to lovers, but I'm a sucker for Marriage of Convenience and for a man who falls first and HARD.

❤️

Spice Scale
 〰️ No romantic plot
🤍A dash of romantic plot is there, but mostly handholding. The romance in the title is a blip
🩶A romantic plot is present, but doesn't get past kisses and hugs.
💚 There is some light spice, but closed door
🧡 There are mildly descriptive spicy scenes, but they are finished very quickly and could be easily skipped over.
🤎 Spice is present, very descriptive, but doesn't overwhelm the plot.
🩷 There is a plot, but there are quite a lot of descriptive spicy scenes that are different encounters that span back to back chapters (chapter changes that are just POVchanges do not count).
💜 Plot? There's just enough to get to the next round of spicy times.
