nisha sharma is a national treasure.

this book was everything it said it would be and more. i have been dying for veera and deepak’s story since i first read dating dr dil back in 2022! these two are truly perfect for each other.

i loved watching them orbit each other and slowly grow closer throughout the story. they put me through the emotional wringer and had me laughing and sobbing several times. our endless cast of family and friends also added so much tension and turmoil and eventually happiness and love to the journey. i absolutely loved the Ms. W. S. Gupta reveal and even more loved our epilogue. ❤️

with every book in the series, i’ve said it’s my new fave. but i think veera and deepak may truly win out as my favorite couple. can’t wait to see what emotional turmoil nisha will put me through next!

I was really sad to finish the last book in this trilogy. I felt like a chapter truly closed on all these characters that have been with me for years. This one still can’t top the second book and maybe because I’m not too familiar with Twelfth Night, this story didn’t resonate with me as much as the second book. But I love Nisha Sharma and I’m so glad I invested time into this entire series. These characters are all so fun and (slightly) relatable - at least the Indian culture part of it - not so much with the highly successful CEOs her books often portray.

Vibes
- Good Time

You're not having a heart attack, you're having feelings.
This series is so under-rated. This accidental marriage turns into a marriage of convenience. Since they complete the full religious ceremony, to Deepak the marriage is very real from the start, which is good since he is falling for his wife. Veera feel for him a long time ago though so she tries to keep him at arms length to protect her heart. He gets grumbly when she calls their marriage "fake". Meanwhile her father is trying to push Deepak out of the CEO position he is due to fill when his father steps down soon. There is lots of manoeuvring and drama which added to the story. I really enjoyed all the Indian wedding aspects that I didn't know much about and were fascinating to me.

Tropes
  • Friends To Lovers
  • Marriage Of Convenience
  • Retelling
  • Political Take Over (company not government)
  • No 3rd Act Break Up
  • Millionaire
  • Workplace (ish)

100 pages in and I am letting out the most unhinged noises every few seconds. Queen Nisha Sharma does NOT miss. I've said this before about her books, but as a Punjabi-American woman I feel so SEEN while reading her work. Although the tropes she is building off of are nothing new, her take on them is fresh, fun, and truly delightful.
