I had the pleasure of reading the final installment in Nisha Sharma’s "If Shakespeare Was an Auntie" trilogy, and I’m thrilled to say this is my favorite book of the series!
In this book, we follow Veera, a brilliant and talented financial whiz, and her twin sister, Sana, who has been recently ousted from their family’s company just before a major merger. They set off on a year-long journey around the world, planning to start a new business. Enter Deepak, our charming MMC, who’s competing for the CEO position of his family’s newly merged company with Veera’s family.
Veera and Deepak, once inseparable friends, find their relationship strained when Veera discovers Deepak’s engagement to Olivia, a famous influencer and board member of their family's joint company. Despite their lingering feelings for each other, they drift apart as Deepak focuses on his business aspirations.
The plot takes a delightful twist when Olivia’s video announcing her split from Deepak catches him off guard. He rushes to Goa, where Veera is currently staying, and their accidental wedding is both surprising and serendipitous. As they navigate this unexpected turn, their friendship blossoms into a steamy romance.
This book captivated me with its friends-to-lovers dynamic and had me rooting for Veera and Deepak from start to finish. The steamy scenes were well-crafted, and I couldn’t put it down. If you haven’t already, add this series to your TBR, and make sure to catch up on the first two books. You won’t be disappointed!

Vera's been in love with her friend Deepak for a long time. So when he suddenly announces his engagement to a gorgeous influencer, she’s crushed, and cuts off contact with him.
A year later, disaster strikes, and she has no recourse but to call Deepak for help. Having just been very publicly broken up with, Deepak is happy to flee New York to rescue his beloved friend in Goa, India.
Despite their estrangement, Veera and Deepak fall easily into their old friendship, and after a night of drinks, they accidentally end up getting married.
Deepak convinces Vera to stay married since it'll help both their career aspirations back home in NYC. But while Veera tries her best to hide her true feelings for him, Deepak begins to genuinely fall for her and sets about to transform their marriage of convenience into a real love marriage.
In this final installment of the delightful trilogy of retellings, If Shakespeare was an Auntie, Sharma features her entertaining mainstay of close friendships, sexy storylines, and boisterous family members set within a tightnit and elite South Asian community.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
