This is my first Nisha Sharma novel, and I loved it! I know I probably should have started with the first one in the series, but Libby dictates my reading sometimes, so I started with the last one in the series. I am very excited to go back and read the other stories next, because I loved the little glimpses I saw of the characters in this novel.

I did not know much of the story going in, besides the fact that it was inspired by a Shakespearean novel. I loved the story and how she imagined the storyline. I loved Veera and Deepak as individuals and as characters. I loved the glimpses of their friendship prior to this novel, which showed how they 'got' each other from the beginning and were fighting their feelings.

The pacing was great, and I could not put the story down. It was funny, engaging, and thrilling. There is definitely a mess in here with the relationships, business drama, and friendship drama, but it's so good!

I can't wait to read more from Sharma!

ok i liked this one a bit more than the other two but i still came away wanting to watch the actual shakespeare play more than rereading the book so like. eh.

also i appreciate that we finally got closure on mrs. gupta's identity but i still think it would've been better if she'd been an actual auntie playing saboteur for the wedding in book 2

I want to say for the most part I consider myself a girls girl but nothing will ever upset me the way Emily Henry, Tessa Bailey, and Ali Hazelwood do. I've read two Emily Henry novels (Beach Read, The People We Meet on Vacation) And honestly I believe I dnf'd The People We Meet on Vacation. One Tessa Bailey novel (It Happened one Summer) And one Ali Hazelwood novel I can't remember the name of I know it was originally Reylo fanfic. And they were absolutely fine I think about reading more of their books often because I can't open TikTok or BlueSky or Insta without seeing when they've dropped a new book but they have absolutely nothing like nothing on Nisha Sharma and it kills me how famous they are because I know Nisha Sharma deserves that level of fame but she writes about and this is a direct quote from her insta "messy brown girls with complicated feelings" and every time I read one of her books it makes me want to scream like the writing is beautiful and the characters complex and you know friends to lovers is in my bottom 3 tropes like from the bottom up, age gap, pregnancy, friends to lovers it's so ridiculously boring like unrequited love and miscommunication and I just hate it and honestly you can check my list I don't think I've ever rated a friends to lovers higher than 3 stars but this was beautiful like an absolutely stunning story showcasing how sometimes being friends first opens up a whole different type of intimacy how well they knew each other was intoxicating to read I felt swept away in their beautiful love story and I wish more people appreciated it but for now I will continue fighting the good fight recommending this series to every single romance girle I see because it deserves all the acclaim it can find
