I'm sorry, but WTF? I don't get it. Where is the plot twist and all? Is it sort of memoir is that it? Overall I do think this was a pointless book, like all her books are... Please do wack me in the head if I add another book of hers on my to read list. I usually choose the books by the title, cover and then the review, but this is not funny anymore. This is the third time she gets me with all of the three and doesn't deliver up to the hype. She is not an author for me. So never again. Such a complete waste of time.

Tarryn Fisher is usually an instant success with me, having previously loved The Wives and Marrow, so when I saw this creepy thriller I instantly added it to my TBR. We follow Fig Coxbury as she becomes insanely jealous of another woman’s life, deciding to buy the house next door to her so she can start infiltrating the family in the hopes of replacing her.

Although this was a fast-paced thriller from the get go with an interesting and morally ambiguous protagonist, it all fell a bit flat for me. I liked how there were 3 parts each narrated by a different character as I’m not sure I could’ve read the whole book from just one of their perspectives. I think I was expecting a really dramatic or twisty ending that never came, and the “reveals” were dropped in so casually to the point where I didn’t feel shocked or care very much.

And lastly, Fig started to irritate the hell out of me! I still enjoyed this book but I couldn’t help feeling slightly disappointed with it, so hopefully my next read from Tarryn Fisher will be more for me.

Oh wow. Oh my God. Tarryn.. this book was exactly what I needed. and that is strange to say about a book that is so thoroughly effed up and bat shit crazy.

I just didn't love the pov changes. I wanted to hear all the story from all three pov's but I feel like I was missing stuff.

3.5 for me. Interesting story, but the ending didn't hit it for me.

This book started out as an extremely unhinged wild ride but kind of fizzled out by the end.  I didn't really care for
the chapters from Darius and Jolene's POV.  I would have rather heard more from Fig because girl was a loose cannon and hearing how she justified everything was entertaining.
The very end was funny (not haha but like that's funny) when
Jolene starts writing about her experience with Fig under the pen name Tarryn.  Obviously supposed to make us think about this book as a true account.  I found it funny though because earlier on I looked up Tarryn Fisher half expecting her to be a man writing under a female pen name due to how some descriptions of women were written.  But I saw her author photos and was like wow, Jo is a self insert. But apparently that was meant to be.

Anyway, it was a fast and entertaining read for the most part, but did have a bit of a disappointing ending.  I felt similarly about The Wives so maybe this author just isn't for me.

Wow.

I began this book thinking “Ok, this is going to be one of those ‘I want your child so I’m going to become you and in the process ruin your life and steal your baby’ books”. Halfway through Part One, I got some SINGLE WHITE FEMALE vibes.

The more I read, the more I realized that Fig was a different type of crazy lady.

Once I reached Part Two, I was unsure of everything. I don’t want to give too much away.

This book is a complete mindscrew and it’s awesome.

Truly twisted from the start but the plot never develops all the way to the marginal ending. Was hoping for more intrigue and surprises but they never came. Told from 3 different character perspectives, the "off" perspective characters personality didn't mesh well with their turn to tell and continue the story.
