Trigger warnings: Violence, bullying.

I wasn't quite sure what to make of this book early on, but I'm really glad I stuck with it because it was a wild ride. I did find the ending to be a little bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the book, but I still had a great time getting there and I didn't see the twist coming. I also thought the four authors did a great job of giving the writing a seamless feel, and if I hadn't known it was written by more than one person I never would have had any reason to guess it. This was a really fun read and I'm glad I came across it.

This was a very underwhelming story. The plot was fairly weak and the denouement a confession - surely the most overused plot device. I quite liked reading the different points of view of the characters. I didn't keep up with who wrote which part so don't know if the different authors stuck with the same character or swapped around. I'm not really sure what the point of this multiple author format was.

I've been a fan of B.A. Paris for awhile now and this collab of authors was so neat.

The story started a bit slow, but after 2 chapters I was hooked. The suspense and mystery was built well and kept me guessing. I honestly didn't know what to expect and couldn't have predicted it at all.

I bought this book mistakenly believing it was by Sophie Hannah alone. When I realised it wasnt, and having never read novels by the other authors, I was a little nervous.

However, the novel was fairly good. There were certain parts that didnt quite gel as it would have with one author, and I couldn't help but wonder how it would have worked if each author wasnt writing a different character.

For me though, the biggest issue was that i couldn't stand ANY of the mothers in this novel. They're all bullying and manipulative and it disgusted me the way they treated both each other and the children.

Overall, this gets 3.5 stars from me.

Did not finish
Terrible.
I could not engage with this book at all, which is a shame when it has 4 (normally) good writers.

The girls in the story are meant to be 17/18 but are written as if they are 13, this makes the whole story seem immature and is incredibly annoying.
The mothers are not much better.

I was so disappointed by this one. I’m a huge fan of Paris and Mackintosh so I was very excited to read their collaboration with two other authors but unfortunately this just fell completely flat. It was boring and nonsensical petty drama between high school students and their even prettier and some how more immature mothers. There was not a single redeemable character among them and the ending was dull and nonsensical. It felt like it should have been a novella at most and the writing didn’t have any of the bite or pull that I’ve come to expect from these authors. It felt very stripped down and basic.
