I really enjoyed this book, and it had a lot of my favorite tropes like enemies to lovers, who did this to you, badass fmc saving herself, etc. Some plot points were too clearly telegraphed to have a satisfying reveal, it could have been shorter, and the end was a bit saccharine, but overall enjoyable!

Wynter was just too rapey. The first encounter he had with Khamsin, he grabbed her, kissed her, and groped her despite her protests. Immediately before this incident, he had the thought "I'm not a rapist." Then he said if his guard hadn't been there in the room he might not have stopped kissing (sexually assaulting) Khamsin because he just wanted her so much. I find men who don't have control over themselves and don't care about how their actions affect others to be unattractive, and I wasn't about to waste 18 more hours listening to that type of character.

It was fun and action-packed. There were some grammar issues and plot holes. Definitely predictable, but I do find myself wanting to read more of Khamsin & Wynter’s story.

Literally THE book to read for the girlies that love the adventure and fantasy of The Hobbit but can’t live without the romance of Gilmore Girls. Fantastic pacing and plot development. The villain was a little cliche but we also get to explore the phenomenon of a Chosen One being a WOMAN, for once.

I was told not to judge this book by its cover, and I am glad I didn't.
It's not superior literature, but if you want an enjoyable romantacy this is a great read.
I am only marking it down because I didn't enjoy the epilouge, I would have liked more resolution particularly surrounding some of the side characters.
I can see how this book was inspiration for Sara J Mass.
