Loveable characters: Complicated

This book isn’t as dark as the first one and it is a relief. With that said, you still have to turn off your brain towards any questions about what morality is or it will be too distracting to enjoy this. It is a tall order but aside from that the characters are interesting, great plot with twists and turns.

Better than the first one. The sexual tension drove me insane. This is a masterclass in the enemies to lovers trope. And Pacat is so good at making all the characters real. And the plot and scheming? I want to crawl inside her brain. AAAHHHH!

Mejor que el primero, aunque la trama sigue sin engancharme mucho (admito que me he leido por encima mucho texto.............me perdonais). Al menos ya no me caen tan mal los protas, aunque el unico pj que me gustaba (Nicaise) de primer libro ni aparece.

Still......me leere el ultimo para ver como acaba la historia de estos aunque me la veo venir 😭 no hay ni un solo plotwist que me haya venido de sorpresa, pero al menos la narración no es mala.

Whew. There is some enemies-to-lovers trope in there... but it takes A LONG TIME. I was ok with that. But the intrigue and story kept me reading. But good gracious, Laurent is a mess.

This book made up for a lot that I hated in the last book. I enjoyed this book so much and loved seeing the plot open up more. This was well done and I love Damen so much. He’s my favorite character. I didn’t think I would but I found myself liking Laurent more in this book.
