There was considerably less sa and rape in this one, which was a welcome change, but my god the writing leaves a lot to be desired.
Had not every battle scene been written as engaging as a day-old weather report then maybe I would have payed more attention to the drama unfolding. Had this author picked up on synonyms for "said" in the same way she has picked synonyms for genitals, then maybe I wouldn't have wanted to tear my hair out every time a character was speaking.
I have only one book left in the series now, and the only thing to keep me going at this point is spite, as well as the rants and lines I send to a friend of mine so we can point and laugh. I am also still very intruiged as to how much Pacat has developed between this series and 'Dark Rise', and I swear to god if y'all are lying to me about that series actually being well-written I will actually cry
