I really enjoyed it. I especially liked how they tied in several of the fairy tales like jack and the beanstalk, princess and the pea, etc.
Cutest book ever! A real Fairy tale! I loved every page! It is a few fairy tales combined, but you don't even notice it until you have finished the book. Such a good read! Recommend it as a pick-me-up book or just a fun read! Well done [a:Alethea Kontis|173493|Alethea Kontis|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1352913068p2/173493.jpg] !!! Can't wait to read book 2.
Slightly too simple/juvenile to be interesting
I really enjoyed this book. There where good things about this book, and some that I was like really?
GOOD:
- I loved how different faery tales where incorporated into the story.
-Loved the names!!!!! And not to give away any thing but the personalities and powers that go along with it,
-I enjoyed the humor.
-The cover is so pretty
BAD:
- The romance was "cute", but it was a little rushed and the prince was annoying. I kinda gagged a little through out it... It was cheese.
- I couldn't tell what age Sunday was. She acted like she was 14, and then 18, then in the middle..... Really confused.
- Some of the humor was okay, but at times it got way to much, and it just sounds dumb.
- I think there where some unnecessary characters in this book, like the prince's cousin.
-I was confused by Mondays Story
-The king is creepy!
Over all you're wondering why I gave it four stars.... me too, but I liked it. There were just a lot of flaws.... Super cute fantasy, though, for those looking for an easy YA.

Yes, four stars, but it was an odd book. A good, subtle story that keeps the reader interested, and a likeable family setting.
Pros:
*Family-oriented storyline
*Unique voice for the story
*The naming system (Monday, Tuesday, etc) is cool
Cons:
*A large cast of characters- I couldn't keep them all straight, especially the men.
*I got a bit confused at one point as to who was the 'bad guy' and who was immortal.
*Lots of descriptions of dresses and haunting beauties. :/

It’s been quite awhile since I read a fairy tale book and after reading Enchanted I can’t remember why I don’t read them more often. Enchanted is a delightful, whimsical take on just about every fairy tale that you can think of. It pulled me in from the very first page and then I floated through the rest of the book with a smile on my face. It enchanted me.
Sunday is the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter and there are many things about herself she doesn’t know. Mostly she just likes to tell herself stories and wonder in the Wood. On one of those days she meets a charming frog and her life changes forever. Sunday and her sisters were so fascinating. They all had such lush back stories and histories. I couldn’t help but get lost in their adventures. I can’t say that I liked Prince Rumbold nearly as much. I think I might have liked him more as a frog…but overall, I really enjoyed all of the characters.
The writing is what stands out. It’s gorgeous and enthralling. It’s the kind of writing that makes you forget everything else that’s going on. You will look up from the page and realize you’ve been reading for 3 hours with no idea where the time went.
If you are a fan of fairy tales or just beautiful writing you should definitely check out Enchanted. You will be charmed by this book!

I love any book that brings in fairytales with new twists so I'm a fan of this one. Plus, this book is fun because it's just as weird as the original fairytales actually are.
I honestly loved this book. And I think its safe to say anyone who loves fairytales will feel the same. The common fairytale traditions and story lines are woven together in a way that actually makes sense (within this fairytale world). Kontis writes the story the way you would tell it orally, with events coming one after the next to propel things forward.
I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but it does have its issues. There are tons of characters involved in a myriad of ways, which anyone who's read much traditional fairy-tale/folklore will appreciate, but it gets difficult to keep them all straight. And though everyone comes through fully by the end, the reader doesn't always get a strong impression of who the secondary characters are because the plot is barreling forward.
Fans of Stardust and other books that stay firmly planted in the world and rules of fairytales will love it, though it may overwhelm those unfamiliar with that world and its stories.

3.5 stars
I found this quite strange. At first I thought it would be a slowly unfolding love story between Sunday and Prince Rumbold, with the story centering around her meeting with him in the woods. But then, he gained his human form and the story changed pace. I felt a little deceived again, like I had with [b:Shinobi Life, Vol. 01|3294622|Shinobi Life, Vol. 01|Shoko Conami|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1370985052s/3294622.jpg|3331222]. This story doesn't just centre around a love story, but it's about the twisted ties between Sunday's family, Rumbold's family, and a whole lot of fae magic.
The Story
I thought it was complex and well-woven. It had me asking, over and over, what happened? What happened? Because there's mystery all the way through. I love that that it was a while bunch of fairytales woven into one, intricately woven, cleverly so. There was Jack and the beanstalk, princess and the pea, the princess and the frog/the frog prince, the story about the shoe that I forgot what it's called, and a whole bunch of others that were referenced to. It was an interesting story, I'll say, and I liked the whole fairytales and words hold a whole lot more power, yet I also felt it's the kind of story that can feel either "great-complex-intricate-and-done cleverly" or "it-was-trying-too-hard-to-incorporate-a-complexity-of-ideas-and-didn't-match-up-to-the-ideal". For me, it was the first, because I did enjoy it in the end. I appreciated the complexness, the world that Kontis created, and to some degree, the characters (though not Sunday much, surprisingly!)
The Telling
I thought this was written relatively well, to interweave so much into the story and create a plot that combined it all, I thought was pretty amazing (though I will say it again, if it wasn't written the way it was, then I would have thought it was terribly done). It was well plottedI think. And the pacing is a little weird, because at first, it's only from Sunday'sperspective that we read the story, but then, Rumbold returns to his human form and it becomes his story too. There were moments when one wonders what's going on because Rumbold just had a weird dream and whatnot, which did throw me off at times, but it added another dimension to the story, that were it writtne by someone else and not done well, then I might have hated it. Unfortunately though, what I wanted to know the most, about Rumbold's missing year, was left vague, rather just him find out, and us, the reader, not knowing. I wanted to know!
The Characters
All the characters were very creative and colourful, and fairytale-like! I liked them. But the main characters, Sunday and Rumbold. Hmm, I did like Sunday, but she seemed a little bland for me. I liked Rumbold's character much more because I wanted to know more about his story, which was not full explored, but what was, it was very interesting.
Overall
I'm very curious to read the companion novels, because I just really liked Enchanted's world, and I want to know more about Thursday who's married to the Pirate King!
