It's super fluffy and I loved it! You don't get a lot of frog-prince rewrites, but this spins a lot of tales into one. It's similar to my favorite musical "Into The Woods" in that sense. They also have unexplored nods to other fairy tales. I like that they are left unexplored. It's not super obvious. If you want a cute, romantic, light and semi-mysterious story, read this! It's great!

Super cute story!

A really full book, with references stuffed in to just about any fairy tale you can think of, and a ton of plot. Rather than spinning up individual plot threads and weaving them together over time, the story grows by accretion: new elements are introduced and immediately glommed onto the main tale. It's a little bewildering to look back from the end and see how much the story grew in the telling, and a little of the charm fades in the second half. The plot still forms a tight, cohesive whole rather than random accumulation. (The fairy tale references may be considered a mite gratuitous but they're also slid in quietly and without fanfare.) As with the best fairy tales, the light, almost trivial, and the serious run side-by-side. Beautifully written, great characters with real but believable growth, and just a joy end to end.

This was a beautifully written fairy tale reimagining. The author artfully combined many classic fairy tales into one amazing story. From The Frog Prince and Cinderella to Jack and the Beanstalk, there are very few tales left unexplored. I would recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy seeing old stories told in new but still familiar ways.

Lovely, all the fairy tales mashed together

I like this book soooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a great book, and one of my favorites. I wish there was a four-and-a-half stars option because that is what I really would have liked to have rated it. It has a little bit of every fairy tail in it, which I think is incredible. I love the way she folds them in and tells us about them. It is great.

But, There were a couple of things that made me not want to give it a full five stars. (I'm sorry, but this is just my opinion.)
First, I would have liked to know a little more about the Prince's past life. She tells us a lot but I wanted to know a little more.
Second, What happened to Jack? She tells us that he isn't dead and that maybe he is sending messages then leaves us. What happened to him?
Third, What were the voices in the wall? Were they his mother or where they the castle talking? Did they stop when they killed the king and freed his mother?
Fourth: I felt like it was laking something, but I can't put my finger on it.

There is one more thing that I must add if you want to listen to the audio book: (Note: This did not have any effect on the stars) Listen to a sample before you buy it. It may just be me, but I found the reader's voice slightly annoying.

I hope this helps.

I am very happy that I finished this book because when I did my previous review on this book, I didn't finish it because I found it way to boring in the beginning but I'm glad I'm done.
I found this book was interesting because it was still in the older times and it had magic and stuff but it was incredibly hard to understand because it jumped from story to story to story.
I didn't find that Sunday and Rumbold's romance was very much. Sure, they knew each other before but I still didn't feel the love between them.
I recommend this book to readers looking for a story retelling.

Ok, this is such an intricately plotted twist of so many fairy tales, it could be a complete mess. But it's not. A lovely fantasy romance! Grades 5+
