This book was just ok. Many people were really raving over it so I am disappointed that I didn't end up loving it. Honestly I just found myself not really caring what happened and couldn't invest myself in it. I couldn't connect with the characters, especially Dez; she was over the top for me. I did like the fact that she wasn't a damsel-in-distress; she was bad-ass and could certainly hold her own and wasn't afraid to stand up for herself. Some of Dez's actions bothered me though. One in particular is when she finds out that Kale is locked up again and one of her closest friends dies, she becomes 'numb' and ends up literally seconds away from having sex with her ex-boyfriend, Alex, just to 'feel something.' It was just moments like this that made me lose interest. The story did have some positive things going for it though. I really liked the plot and the concept with the Sixes, it reminded me of 'Shatter Me' except the roles were reversed.
