DNF (maybe for now). I can't tell if I'm in a slump or if I'm over this series - which is sad because I wanted to read the Hades books.

Honestly, I understand why everyone rated it so low. I never considered DNF but it defiantly did not capture my attention like the first book did.
The entire book consisted of nothing and it's true literally the last 10% of the book was the fight between Gods. BUT the book seemed to have lead up to a prolonged fight in the next book, so hooray this may not be the actual all terrible tense fight??? Maybe this was just a taste of it in preparation of a touch of chaos I hope....
Anyways I still LOVEee this series, but unfortunately Hades has become a little cringe.

I really wanted to give this book a lower rating because of all the typos that resulted in grammatical errors and/or duplicative sentences. But, I’m feeling generous right now because, as for the overall plot line, this was substantially better than the second book. The second book was just a lot of randomness scattered throughout sex scenes. Its key points (Lexa in the Underworld, Persephone working out of Hade’s offices with Sybil, et al., and Persephone’s friendship with Apollo) could have been woven into this third book and—sans typos—probably would have merited five stars.
As an aside, I don’t think the kidnapping and almost-rape of Persephone helped the storyline. Since it happened, it obviously needed to be addressed again. The way in which it was addressed in this third book worked, but it didn’t take away from the feeling that the whole event was like a scene from an action movie that should have ended, except the writers apparently felt compelled to create just one more obstacle for the characters to overcome. It was just too much and, even after this book, still seems unnecessary.
I do love how this book ended. I am a sucker for a good cliff hanger and this one was pretty awesome. I hope the next book does not disappoint.
