I'm not a fan of memoirs generally because I think often the person writing them doesn't actually have anything to say, but Carrie fit a lot in a very small number of pages.

The subject matter is quite deep, with Carrie going into detail about her struggles with drugs, alcohol and her mental health- but she adds a comedic spin to it which makes this book hilarious in places.
It’s not just about Star Wars, although she does talk about it fondly, and also not so fondly, being a young 19 year old woman in the first film there were going to be some points when she felt uncomfortable. Like George Lucas telling her she couldn’t wear a bra as there’s no underwear in space!
Despite the fact it flip flops back and forth between elements of her life she feels are important to share, it’s a really easy read. It’s not difficult to read because of the length, the way it’s written, and Carrie’s infectious humour.
I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it if you want to find out more about everyone’s beloved space princess that wasn’t shown in her films.

Although Carrie's ultimate outcome was not ideal after her personal battles, I still found her attitude in this memoir inspiring even though I don't struggle with the same problems. She definitely puts a lighthearted spin on her issues that I think could be helpful for others in similar positions.
If you're at all a Carrie Fisher fan, I definitely recommend this book.
