UGH taking it to the whole next level. WWII and Pearl Harbor?! Giant ancient vampires and a chosen one?! All the feels for Cash and his son! Vampire Nazis! A cure! Damn. Pretty hard to top this volume but excited to see how the story progresses.

Ugh. I am liking this series more and more as it goes on. Is it wrong to be rooting for the vampires? Well not all of them. Specifically the American ones.

Finally came to the end of it. I don't have enjoy it as much as the previous one. To much war stuff and not enough of the old vampire thing that I like in it. Hopefully the next volume will be better.

In this third volume, Snyder varies greatly from the time and location of the previous volumes- but the transition is a success. Moving forward in the characters' stories and experience, while introducing a new breed, Snyder keeps the plot fresh and entertaining.

The series moves into World War II with this volume and it's pretty interesting stuff. I wonder a bit about how quickly it's progressing through history - it seems like the series will up to present day pretty quickly. Will it end there or move past us? Anyway, I liked this volume pretty well, though my main interest is in Pearl's story, so when it deviates I get a little disappointed. Still, an intriguing series.

5 stars - For the main story arc 12-18, I really loved how this story continued even after such a huge gap in me reading the first 2 volumes.

4 stars - American Vampire Survival of the Fittest 1-5, this was really interesting but doesn't compare to the main arc for me.

I admit: I want Skinner Sweet & Pearl to hook up. And I do hope that he's not really dead. He can't really be dead, can he? There are some weird panel inconsistancies in this book, some of the same stuff that I've noticed in the last two books, but I may be twigging on these because I read graphic novels too fast. Otherwise, what's not to love here? Vampires & World War Two! I am anxiously awaiting more of Hattie getting kicked in the you know by Pearl, but I can abide until the next book.
