this was awesome. not going to lie the characters are some of my faves. they were quirky and their interactions were awesome. I love that their relationship evolves and that they were so good for one another. They didn't always make life easy for one another but they were what the other needed.

Lighthearted, romantic, and sweet; The Dragon’s Bride was a surprisingly lovely fantasy story of an arranged marriage gone right.
I really enjoyed this world and the concept of the seidr as this elemental elf like race. I also liked how the narrative was told through the perspective of both main characters. The characters themselves were all really adorable, especially Imara and Ronar as they grew to know one another. I wouldn’t call this an enemies to lovers per say, but it was certainly a major distrust and minor resentment to lovers, from Imara’s side, at the very least. I do, however, wish that there was more of a gradual transition between Ronar’s platonic feelings towards Imara, to his later romantic interest. As it is, the switch seemed to come on very suddenly with some minor moral quandaries given their age gap. These were quickly dismissed though. Imara’s own feelings went through the expected arc as the two characters interacted and bantered back and forth. So, her emotional switch feels like it makes sense. It was only his that sort of came out of nowhere, despite the chapters told from his perspective leading up to it.
Overall, I will probably be recommending The Dragon’s Bride to my friends who are fans of fantasy as a fast, feel-good read.

You would like this book if you wished Uprooted by Naomi Novik was more of a romance novel. I enjoyed reading it, but probably would have enjoyed it more if that comparison wasn't always in the forefront of my mind. It was impossible not to compare them: they are so similar. In this book, the stakes felt lower and the characters, except for Imara, felt less three-dimensional.
The strongest part of this book is definitely the world building. It was an interesting fantasy world, a fun take on elf-like creatures and how their magic works. I also thought Imara was a strongly-realized character with a satisfying arc. I wish her male counterpart, Lajos, had had a similar arc, but he pretty much fell in insta-love with her and didn't deviate, which was a little boring. I like romance novels that are about both protagonists growing separately and together (especially when you get dual POVs).
Another main concern was that the title should really be "The Dragon Master's Bride" because.

The beginning was slow, and I wasn't hooked until aroubd halfway through. But the story was fun! I really enjoyed Imara. From the girl who didn't see her own worth, to someone who truly stands in her own power. Ronar is snarky, constantly poking at Imara. But overall I enjoyed the relationship between them. It was very slow burn, more closed door, that didn't bother me. The relationship between the two of them was sweet.
I believe this is a standalone, but I would love another story with the characters! I want to know more about the magic of the world, and get to know the side characters better. I enjoyed it!

A beautifully rendered fairy tale with hints of Beauty and the Beast, Lord of the Rings, and all the sass you could possibly want!
Christie and Beaumont bring to life a rich world full of well-rounded characters, fascinating magic, and an enchanting love story for the ages. All I can say is if you love fairy tales, do yourself a favor, and snag a copy. It won't disappoint.

It's hard to write a story, and for two people to mesh so well while writting a story it's even harder... These two authors did that in spades.
I love books about dragons, and if they have slow burn romance, witty banter, some snark and epic fantasy ... well I'm sold.
This book had all that and more, it reads so fast once you do have time to sit down with it .. because if you have other chores they will be forgotten..
I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between our main protagonists and how their relationship is developped, and I don't often say this but I wish that this was a series because it's a world I would love to get back to.

a girl who is the only person in her village who is without any powers. When the villagers get attacked by mages and with the land drying up, there is lack of offerings to gift the Dragon King. So they offer her as his bride in exchange for protection that's imara .
ths character were very bland and i really didn't connect with the mc
overall a good read, i read it in one setting
plot was somewhat predictable
