One of my best reads so far!
I've read a Nora Roberts trilogy before, and it's the same pattern where 3 pairs of main characters are present and each book focuses on one couple while the whole plot continues the story. I thought I will be turned off with such repeating trope as knowing myself, I don't like repetitive plots and such. But it's still good!
She writes with clarity, especially with the characters where you'll be able to distinguish their personality whereas compared to others in which it can get really confusing which is which when they're all together.
It also provoked real emotions out of me especially that I mostly read in the middle of the night and when the horror scenes come I can feel goosebumps within me as I immerse myself in the story. I'm so excited to read the second book after this and wonder what kind of love story it will be for the next couple that is to be featured.

didn't like the writing style but loved the cozy vibes
First book of the Sign of the Seven Trilogy
In the 1600s in the small town of Hawkins Hollow a band of townspeople, led by a fanatical Puritan leader named Lazarus Twisse, entered a wooded clearing where stood a small cabin. They were there to accuse and burn the inhabitants of Witchcraft. What followed caused the deaths of all in the vicinity, left a perfect ring of fire and a smooth stone altar.
350 years later, three young boys, best friends who share the same birthday, camp out in the clearing and celebrate their 10th birthday. They swear a blood pact to be best friends forever. As their blood drips on the stone altar, something is unleashed.
Every seven years, on the 7th day of the 7th month, the inhabitants of Hawkins Hollow endure what a they call "the seven." It is a week where the residents do the unspeakable to themselves and to each other with no memory of what or why afterward.
The three boys, Gage, Caleb and Fox realize they are somehow the cause of the events and seek to understand, help and prevent.
Signs point to fact the third manifestation of the Seven (the year the three men will turn 31) will be cataclysmic. The signs appear earlier and the evil seems stronger. But a new player has entered the scene. Quinn Black, a writer has come to Hawkins Hollow to write a book on the rumors about the town. But once she gets there she realizes that she is somehow connected the the events.
For those familiar with Nora Roberts' other paranormal trilogies such as The Key trilogy and the Circle trilogy, the set up is familiar. Three guys, three gals, each couple gets a book as they all work together to defeat the evil that is happening.
This was a fun, quick read albeit a bit spookier than her other trilogies. This is like Stephen King lite. I almost wanted to classify it horror except on the main, it is largely a romance novel.
She certainly sets a great stage and creates really engaging characters. And as this is the first book of a trilogy, nothing really happens here except the meeting of the six principle players, setting up the backstory, and letting the first couple get together. I look forward to the second and third books of the trilogy.

Nora Roberts trilogy with a supernatural twist. This is book number one and was a good entry into the series. The hero and heroine are fairly typical in the usual boy meets girl falls in love with girl and is hunted by evil kinda way.
All three books, Blood Brothers, The Hollow and The Pagan Stone have what you come to expect and love in a Nora Roberts paranormal trilogy; suspense, action, mystery, deep abiding friendship, a well defined story arc with a solid mythology and romance. A great book and a great series, one I highly recommend.
Book One in the Sign of Seven trilogy. A brilliant book by a brilliant author who is not afraid to mix the dark and light forces together to make things right!
This book is the FIRST Nora Roberts that I was able to finish, which is a feat as I was unable to get past 2 chapters of her Chesapeake Bay series and several others that my sister thrust upon me. What was most surprising is that I liked it quite a bit. Mostly because of the paranormal aspects, but the characters were also compelling. I even have been known to recommend this triology a time or two.
Cal, Fox, and Gage have the ultimate casual guy-type best friends forever relationship. Through thick and thin. Even through supernatural circumstances, which was my least favorite aspect of this book. I read Nora's books for the tight knit friendships and family ties. The casual, but fiercely loyal bonds that her characters have.
The women. Quinn, Layla, and Cybil are extremely strong and capable women with opinions and the confidence to state them.
The second in the Sign of Seven Trilogy is released in May. The Hollow figures most prominently in my to-read category.

This book was a nice change from the young adult novels that I usually read. I really liked the idea of the story line, very original and very intriguing. The story focused around three boys who have a very strange thing happen to them on their tenth birthdays. The story develops and takes place 21 years after the incident. Three women are introduced and each is a counterpart to one of the men. The story has enough suspense, adventure, and romance to keep any reader entertained. The main characters, Caleb and Quinn, have a serious relationship blossoming. I wish that the author had developed the relationship of the two remaining couples a little more, but there is two more books in this trilogy so hopefully there will be more to see from them. Overall, this book was a good read and, at times, very difficult to put down.
