This episode is a combination of fascination and frustrating. The world is amazing, but even by the end I didn’t understand what was going on. To make it more frustrating, a couple of times Tria offers up information only to be cut off mid-sentence by Kal as soon as he gets close to explaining something.

I enjoyed following along with Kal, and really liked seeing him get frustrated enough with this strange world to yell at a shopkeeper. In fact, Kal messes up a lot in this episode, and I enjoyed seeing that Kal is not perfect.

I don’t want to give away too much, but in this episode we find out for sure that Kal is gay. If you were paying attention in other episodes, it won’t come as too much of a surprise.

I would have liked a bit more of a follow up about how Kal deals with his first crush.

I loved the imagery and themes set out here between Kal and Rko. I did miss seeing Tria, and was disappointed we never really find out what he was doing during Kal’s adventure on Dvu.
