It's a good introduction to the series, with teasers and references to the other books. It makes you disover holes in your knowledge, and makes you want to learn more.
That said, I think that it kind of fails at introducing JavaScript to someone who has never used the language before. It has a introductory chapter for those who haven't programmed at all before too, but I fear that that chapter also will fall short for most people. After all, this book is under 100 pages.

It feels a little too beginner for intermediate devs and too advanced for beginner devs. It’s also primarily a preview for the other books in the series and refers to them a lot. I do like the writing style for it being a tech book and am looking forward to the other books in the series.
Great Introduction
Great introduction to a series on getting to know Javascript. I like the author's wit and can already see the difference in his approach from other books that I've read. Agree with his assertion that JS has to be understood well, not just cherry-picked, to be a good developer. Excited to read the other books in this series.

Just an introduction - not sure how to rate. This book introduces main concepts to explore further in other books in the series. So far, i have so much trouble with truly understanding Closure and This.
This was an amazing little book, easy to read and understand. I found it while reading my feed on Quora and decided to give it a try.
It demystifies things like coercion, closures, hoisting and the this identifier. This book whets your appetite into learning all parts of JavaScript and not just the good parts.
I can't wait to read the whole series!
