Historical fiction has become one of my favourite genres. I love learning history, but I can never find a history book that grabs me, historical fiction on the other hand! The story follows Adelaida on her escape from Venezuela while piecing together the history that pushed her to do so. It made me want to learn about Venezuela and the conflicts there. Pretty intense read.

De las cosas más duras sobre el país que he leído pero, dicho esto, de las cosas más maravillosas también. ¡Qué buen libro! Me mantuvo interesada todo el tiempo. La razón por la que me tomó tanto fue el componente emocional del que no puedo escapar como venezolana: tenía que detenerlo por momentos para digerir las tormentas que despertaba.
