This book was exactly what I needed. I read through the last 50% at the speed of sound, and I am SO invested in these characters. The story and Rory had me hooked immediately. All her friends throughout the book were side characters that were all rich with their own backstories. Our MMC and his friends? Don't even get me started. Sam and Lauren are amazing, and I love Sam's protective older brother energy to both our main characters. While some parts of the book you could see coming, there were also many other things that kept me on my toes and surprised me. I need to start book 2 right away.

the Book isnt bad whatsoever, I enjoyed it BUT I did not like how predictable it was for me.
i gave it a fair shot, i even went full on conspiracy theorist for a moment hoping i was wrong about my first instinct, but the second I read that Caius and Gideon were twins it was game over, then I guessed 90% of the whole plot of the two books. I hate that for me.
did I have fun? yeah, but seeing how much I was right about just took away the oomph for me!
I'll still read the second book just to see it all play out even tho I know how it's gonna go down.

Didn't really catch me, the world building was confusing and the plot seemed like nothing special. It felt hard to follow and I was more excited to read other things.

Honestly this started off pretty strong, good plot idea and decent characters but it really took a turn and everything got very cringe in the worst way. Would not recommend or continue the series.
