i wanted to love this book so bad, it was marketed as a knives out style book and i loved the woman in the window. this was just not it.

A pretty decent murder mystery/who dunnit story.
The story seems to lull in the middle, before picking up again.
I will say the plot twists at the end truly did surprise me so giving a higher rating for being an ending I couldn’t predict.

I really wanted to like this. I almost quit but I had to see “who did it” at the end. You could safely skip the first 3/4 of the book and still be fine. There was over the top description of almost every single thing (like inanimate object, room, wallpaper, garden) but not enough description of any of the many, many characters involved so I actually cared about any of them.

I think I’d have liked this a little more if I read it visually; I found myself less pulled in and more easily distracted during the middle chunk of the book. The last 3 hours were very hard to put down, though, and I absolutely did not see the reveal of the protagonist, which deaths were murders and who the murderers were, and all of that coming. I feel like the trans reveal and story line was actually handled better than I’d have expected .
