First of all, I loved that this book tackled important topics such as ADHD and touchy professors! It felt empowering to read how Summer deals with those problems and how she is not afraid to speak up for herself or others! At first, Summer came of as a bit superficial, but I was proven wrong. Her character has so many levels to it, I love it!

As much as I loved Summer though, Fitz's character just fell flat for me. When he was first introduced in the Off Campus-series, I was really intrigued to get to know this tattooed gamer better and I felt like he was introverted but had an awesome personality. However, my wishes did not come through. For me, Fitz was just meh in The Chase. I do not like how he handled his affection to Summer at all, always telling himself "she's not a good fit for me", " I don't like drama" etc. I just feel like so many of their "problems" could have been avoided if Fitz would've just been honest with her and himself. On top of that, I felt like Fitz too thought that Summer was superficial and stupid a few times. The first time I noticed this was when he was acting all surprised that she'd read his favorite fantasy series. Instead of bonding with her on that topic, he just assumed she was straight up lying. Why the f*ck would she do that? And later on - when they are already together - he was acting all surprised that she could draw. Wasn't all that surprising considering she's a fashion major, was it?

Now, enough talk about Fitz's personality (or lack thereof). The whole storyline just felt dragged out (so much could have been prevented if they just communicated with each other and besides, a lot of their " relationship problems" felt forced) and I did not get as attached to their relationship as I was to the previous ones in the Off Campus-series. Somehow the tension between the characters was not as good as in previous books (and that's what I loved about Off Campus! That you could basically *feel* the butterflies). The love triangle with Hunter was also not up my street. Somehow, I actually found myself thinking that Hunter would have been a better fit for Summer. Up until the end, I did not really get what Fitz and Summer saw in each other.

All in all, I am a bit disappointed. I loved the Off Campus-series and I was really looking forward to this spin-off series. Yes, it is a fast and addictive read but I really hope the rest of the series lives up to the hype of the original!
