*Not for School*
Not as good as the first one, but still a good vacation read. Fun and much better than the Bridgerton books! (The show was awesome the book.. Meh)

Pretty good read. Will try to write more later when I'm not falling asleep.

I read this because one of my friends love Tessa Dare. I didn't love this but I enjoyed the setting and the steamy scenes were nice. I might pick up another one of her books at some point but most likely no anytime soon.
Tessa Dare's sweetly written romantic fantasy is a treasure. Madeline is uncertain of her abilities to live up to what is expected of her. So she creates a fictitious admirer. The plan backfires when her make believe suitor becomes a reality. When a Scot Ties the Knot is a beguiling historical read. It's witty, touching and a fantasy come true. Insecure Madeline thought that pretended to be something she wasn't would make her happy. But it turns out being her true self is what made her better. That's what attracted Logan to her. Logan came across larger than life but turned out to be really down to earth.

SYNOPSIS
On the cusp of her first London season, Miss Madeline Gracechurch was shy, pretty, and talented with a drawing pencil, but hopelessly awkward with gentlemen. She was certain to be a dismal failure on the London marriage mart. So Maddie did what generations of shy, awkward young ladies have done: she invented a sweetheart.
A Scottish sweetheart. One who was handsome and honorable and devoted to her, but conveniently never around. Maddie poured her heart into writing the imaginary Captain MacKenzie letter after letter . . . and by pretending to be devastated when he was (not really) killed in battle, she managed to avoid the pressures of London society entirely.
Until years later, when this kilted Highland lover of her imaginings shows up in the flesh. The real Captain Logan MacKenzie arrives on her doorstep—handsome as anything, but not entirely honorable. He's wounded, jaded, in possession of her letters . . . and ready to make good on every promise Maddie never expected to keep.

It isn't exactly Outlander but it did give me a little bit of Jamie and Claire vibes. I like that you don't have to read these in any particular order too. The lobster bit was great and so was Madeline's drawings!

I listened to this book back in June and while I enjoyed it and the narrator was excellent, I didn't feel like I'd fully paid attention. I ended up getting it from the library to read and I'm so glad I did. While there are phrases and ideas in here that didn't seem very 1800's to me the story is charming and romantic and I adored the main couple. I was even rooting for the lobsters.
This was a fun and moving story and a delightful end to a very enjoyable series.

It started so good. It was funny and I loved Maddie.
And then they fell for each other and all fire was gone. It was still funny, but they became a boring mush.

Such a silly fun read! Maybe I'm a romantic after all....
