This book would get good then slow down, get good then slow down. It got real good towards the end. Did not expect the twist.

solid 2.5 stars. I definitely prefer the silent patient over this book.

I did not see the ending at all. And yes sometimes w a murder mystery this is a good thing but it truly came out of left field. I understand how we got to the murderer but it was literally revealed in the last 5-10 pages of the book with no true resolution to anything. You’re left w nothing

i’ve been waiting for this book for so long, and was so excited to finally read it. i’ll say one thing: it definitely lived up to the hype i personally created for it. alex michaelides writes so beautifully, and i enjoyed this so much.

i liked the plot, i thought it was original and hooking, and the execution was great — even though i kind of realized who the murderer was halfway through. the plot twist in itself was great anyway, i’ll admit.

some of the details were unrealistic, and there’s a few things i wish took place differently, but this was still an enjoyable read!

i also loved the fact that it took place in the same universe as TSP, and kinda look forward to a third book with some sort of mention to both of these books!
