My favourite installment of this collection so far. I've never read anything else by Nghi  Vo, but based on this, I need to try her long form works. This is a chilling, paranormal story that could have been a novella or even full-length novel. Wonderful writing, atmospheric setting, and a story that draws you in and keeps you on tenterhooks. The only problem is that it's so short that the ending feels too abrupt and comes too quickly considering the effective build-up and how many elements could have been drawn out and made more fully realised.

Highly recommend the audiobook for this one.

Do we want to know what the dead know?

I enjoyed the writing style and the dynamic pace of this story. It covers all important points: characters you connect to, a mystery, a bit of action, and an emotional ending. There isn't anything about this story I disliked.

I would recommend this to everyone who likes mysteries and ghost stories.

I give this 5/5 stars as I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audio version from beginning to end.

This was a very interesting read. Kind of makes me think of the saying “be careful what you wish for.” In the MFC’s case, be careful about what you pretend to be. You might bite off more than you can chew. I really liked the ending and how it paralleled the beginning of the story. It kept me enthralled and it was definitely an interesting take of the dead.
