Grace Lin

4.17 AVERAGE

This was another great installment in the life of Pacy Grace Lin. She and her family travel to Taiwan and Pacy and her sisters explore their roots, while always eating the most DELICIOUS food. That may be one of my favorite parts of Grace Lin's novels.

This novel built on Pacy's discomfort with not knowing her culture and her feelings of inadequacy that stem from her lack of knowledge. She also meets a new rival and becomes a little closer with her older sister.

I loved how her relationships developed with her family as well as the new people she met while staying in Taiwan. Her character growth was very well portrayed and it was fun to read. This series has so many good lessons in it that don't feel shoehorned at all, it really is a must for kids.
