Sometimes, while reading this book, I think to myself, "Why am I so entertained by this? It's actually quite boring." But Ben Snakepit's interpretation of being an old punk, crushed out on his girlfriend, playing music with his bands, riding bikes, fishing, tubing, frowning behind the counter at his video store job, and just hanging out in Austin Texas, never fails to ultimately charm me. His illustrations of surfing aliens to describe being stoned don't hurt, either.
