This was such a fun read! It was easy to get into and I didn’t want to put it down. The magic and political systems were explained simply but thoroughly, so the events weren’t hard to understand. I love the chronic illness representation as well, and how the main characters support each other through their believed weaknesses. The characters were lovable and the book had humor perfectly woven into it. A great, quick summer read that I would read again!

Ridiculous, over the top, and a dang delight! My Lady Jane meets Mercedes Lackey-style vintage fantasy vibes, this romantasy is chock full of feelings, chronic illness representation, and horses. I enjoyed the heck out of it!

This was a breath of fresh air. An absolute joy to read, the vibes were immaculate. Cosy, fun and full of bits that made me laugh out loud, with the most relatable FMC and MMC at its core. I didn’t know how much I needed this lighthearted fantasy in my life until I read it. My heart is happy.

Despite an interesting concept, there is nothing that makes this distinguishable from any other romantasy. It felt very much like going through the motions of a cozy fantasy. And slow burn my azz.
they knew each other three days before they slept together and Bianca started contemplating if she loved him

I have mixed feelings about the representation of the other countries, I would be interested to see if it’s just me being oversensitive or if it is kind of weird to have a country called Zhei where the people are almost caricatures of East Asian culture.
Bianca’s disorder was obviously celiac’s disease, in a very thinly veiled way. I think if the author wanted to make more of an impact, I would have tweaked the disease even more rather than just be celiac-but-we-use-different-words-for-it. It felt kind of gimmicky to me.
Overall I think on paper, figuratively, it follows the arc of a fantasy story and has distinct character growth, so i don’t think I could rate below a 3. But it was not strong or memorable whatsoever so I also could not rate it higher than a 3.

Cute, quirky, and fun!! I loved the characters and the plot was fast-paced and kept you engaged. I wish you learned more about the countries represented and their magical systems, because I thought that was really fascinating. Overall, a solid fantasy romance!!
