The chemistry between Aric and Bianca is adorable. They both have a dry sense of humor that allows for laughter even when the situation they find themselves in is dire. The traditional fantasy world and classic quest-driven plotline make any fantasy reader feel at home. It was cute, cozy, funny and overall a great read.

This one was just fun. I was looking for a lighthearted fantasy and that is exactly what I found. There are some deeper topics discussed in this book but it was never to deeply discussed. I also think I had such a good time because Natalie Naudus is one of my favorite narrators.

My inner horse girl was so delighted for this book and couldn't wait to read it. The premise was so unique and the cover is beautiful.

This book was funny, lighthearted, and somewhat cheesy but in I way that I enjoyed. The horse puns were pretty great. I saw quite a few other reviews suggesting not to take it too seriously, and I definitely agree. I do wish Bianca and Aric had more chemistry (other than turning into horse, I found him to be kind of boring) and as a result I felt the romance a little lacking since I didn't feel all that connected to the MMC. I also wish the world building had been more immersive as there was lots of potential, and I still didn't really get the magic system by the end of the book. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook version. It was a fun listen and kept me engaged throughout. I would definitely recommend Behooved as an easy-to-read palette cleanser.

When I saw the cover of the book, I was like, "Sign me up!" I love a good fairy tale like story, ever since I was little and that hasn't changed much. This book is like if the book My Lady Jane got the fairy tale treatment. This isn't as quirky as My Lady Jane, but it still had that vibe. This also looked at the themes of duty versus heart, which I really liked.

My only complaint is that the spicy scenes seemed out of place to me, but I'm not a big smut reader in general.

5/5 THIS WAS SOOOO CUTE and the perfect way to end pride month! Such a great comfort fantasy, similar vibes to My Lady Jane, Shrek, and Ella Enchanted, this had tons of queer and disability rep, loved the humor, the gentle romance and ofc found fam! Need more interconnected standalone after this ASAP!
