I felt like there was a lot of unnecessary explaining in this volume, causing the plot to not really move along at all. Still enjoying the story though!

We're headed to Alchemist Hogwarts!
I liked this volume, Chise is a character who's had a lot of development over the series. The more she gains confidence, the more she's able to help herself and others.

Hooboy that's a LOT of characters, all by the benefit of moving the setting to a college for magic-types.

You got Chise's new roommate.
You got the Cronenberg'd nurse who'll examine her.
You got the language professor who is the Alchemy 101 teacher.
You got the apprentice of the really eager alchemist who wanted to study magic introduced last arc.
You got all of Chise's lunch buddies.
You got the established clique of popular kids who one of em almost Draco-Malfoy'd himself into being eaten alive by a (flaming) salamander.
You have the faculty who are determined to keep an eye on our two mages cuz either they think they're dangerous or there might be nefarious goings-on.
You got a nun who might be more than she seems.
And then you got an auditor for the priest introduced in Volume 1, who was supposed to be watching the bonehead for any signs of hostility.

And I'm sure there's more, but I honestly can't remember ALL of the people introduced this time around.
