For not-actual-enemies, this is pretty great enemies-to-lovers

I loved this book!  I do enjoy ali hazelwood’s writing style most of the time I just have a slight problem and her character development. I like Levi so much more than Adam in The Love Hypothesis because I felt like Levi had more dimensions to him and we got to see more of the emotional side to him. I think the main protagonist Bee is a little too naïve and I would’ve liked her to be a bit more intelligent on the social front since she’s a literal neuroscientist but I did enjoy how the story had a lot of representation of the struggles that women go through within the workplace including micro-aggressions.

Sometimes you just need a little, kicking my legs in the air, giggling and crying book that feels like a serotonin shot to the heart.

And the message in the authors note. “And remember: if academia ever makes you feel like you’re not good or smart enough… it’s not you, it’s academia”. Thank you ali 💜

I thought this was a very cute read, but very easy to anticipate the plot. I found it a bit difficult to connect with the main character, but all in all, I liked it. Definitely a “by the pool” kind of book!
