Another audiobook I finished in less than a day! I love a cat and mouse game, where the mouse is trying to outwit the cat.

Evie Porter has everything a nice, Southern girl could want: a perfect, doting boyfriend, a house with a white picket fence and a garden, a fancy group of friends. The only catch: Evie Porter doesn’t exist.
Phew!! That was one heck of a debut and I am absolutely in awe! We picked it as the first monthly read for our Crime and Thriller bookclub https://www.instagram.com/whereismyalibiclub?igsh=MWJudGp1bmFvMWx4Yg== and it was the perfect choice to kickstart our club!!
What makes First Lie Wins a perfect thriller is the narrative's rapid-fire progression and the absolutely bonkering mind games between Mr. Smith and our protagonist Evie! Evie emerges as a figure not easily forgotten; her blend of cunning intelligence and razor-sharp instincts carves her into the annals of unforgettable protagonists. ALL BOXES TICKED! The prospect of a series centered around her exploits is one that I can very well give into and I would absolutely be the first one to grab my hands on all the sequels!!!
The audacity of the author Elston, to leave readers in a whole mess with the clever plot twists, the breakneck pace and jaw-dropping relevations is uncanny lol! Just when it seems like all doors are closed for Evie and she has reached a dead-end she somehow finds a way out! ABSOLUTE BONKERS!!!

I really enjoyed this book, I didn't predict all the twists and I liked that, but it seemed pretty simple and I would have liked to have more layers to the plot. It felt a little slow/boring.
I liked the teamwork, I liked Devon a lot, but I wanted him to have a little more character than a paranoid IT guy.
I really liked the planning and the prep of every job, and I liked the thriller aspects, but I felt like overall, First Lie Wins was maybe more of a mystery book less of a thriller.
Spoilers
I don't get why Ryan's threats never got addressed. Like he made threats over something Evie/Lucca did, and is she just okay with it??
