Kara Hastings has always drifted from job to job, but now she has found her passion, baking. Kara has opened a bakery in her small town of Briar Creek and is determined to get the town to take her seriously, that this will not be just another passing fancy. Nate Griffin is taking his first vacation in 10 years from his high-paying, all-consuming job in Boston and is in Briar Creek to visit his aunt for Christmas. With bad memories from his childhood Christmases, he is unimpressed with Briar Creek’s enthusiasm for the holiday. However, the cute town baker might just be able to change his mind…
This is the fifth book in the Briar Creek series, but it can be read as a standalone. This is a light, sweet read that will leave you longing for some Christmas cookies!

What's not to love about a small town Christmas? Kara owns the bakery in town and it takes up all of her time and energy leaving her single. Nate is visiting his aunt for the holiday. The whole town knows about him from the bragging his aunt has done for years. When they meet Kara feels the spark she had heard about but never actually experienced. Nate is only in town for a few weeks and he is not a fan of Christmas. Can the charm of a small town convince him to take a chance on Briar Creek and the pretty bakery owner? Sometimes it takes someone else's belief in you to push you outside your comfort zone. Sometimes the possibilities that present themselves make you second guess the safe life you have made for yourself. This was a fun, clean romantic holiday story. I really enjoyed it.

Christmas Comes to Main Street was such a sweet and enjoyable read. I fell for the characters instantly and devoured their story in just a few short hours.
Christmas Comes to Main Street is a light, sweet romance. It has very little drama and is just one of those books that can't help but make you feel good and put a smile on your face. And I enjoyed every second of it.

Another sweet, fun romance from the small town of Briar Creek and the familiar & friendly cast of characters that I've come to know and love.
This time around we get Kara's story. She is one of the last single friends in her group and her prospects for meeting and falling for anyone local are not great. Enter Nate, nephew of Briar Creek Bed & Breakfast's owner Maggie and workaholic. The two of them have an instant attraction but they both have the wrong impression of each other and won't let themselves give into said attraction. He's too focused on making a living and she's too focused on proving herself to everyone who might doubt her. Can they both get past their insecurities and fear of making the wrong choices in order to be happy?
This book was sweet and fun and exactly what I look for in a holiday read. There isn't much angst and it's more romantic than sexy (i.e. Clean) but still there was enough sexual tension to tide me over.
If you like a good, clean small-town romance set at Christmastime, then this book is totally worth picking up.

ARC Review: Christmas Comes to Main Street (Briar Creek) by Olivia Miles
Anything he can do, I can do better ...
With a business to run, Kara has no time for arrogant and infuriating distractions. Her pride won't allow her to surrender to self-doubt or ask for help. It certainly won't allow her to be bested by an outsider with a superiority complex. Nate has a massive ego and rather large chip on his shoulder. Olivia Miles, generates major sparks with Christmas Comes to Main Street. A battle of the sexes mixed in with loveable holiday charm makes Kara and Nate, a tempting treat for any sweet tooth. Briar Creek is a great place to spend some down time.

This is such a nice Christmas story that got my hooked from the very beginning.
This is very well written and yes it is a quick read that I just couldn't stop reading. Good thing it wasn't so long and only took me 3 hours to read or else I would not have done any work at all today.
If you are in the mood to read a sweet and light Christmas read then I do highly recommend this book.

This was such a great Christmas story. It was full-on holiday theme, but without getting overly sweet (unless you count the goodies Kara makes in her bakery - they sound delish)! Our leading characters had more in common they they first think - especially after a very bumpy first impression. Both are driven, business-oriented, and out to prove themselves to the world. But they have different ways of doing that. It was fun to see how two people were so similar and yet so very different in how they went about getting things done.
Christmas was everywhere, from the decorations at the B&B, the bakery's goodies, and the all important (seriously - very important) holiday house competition. This competition sounds like fun, but with a prize on the line, it gets very serious very quickly - but thankfully our couple doesn't let it get in the way - too much. All these little holiday touches set such a perfect stage for the romance.
Christmas Comes to Main Street will definitely put you in the holiday mood with lovely characters, a great setting, and the perfect romance. I think I'll have to check out more from Briar Creek, because this was definitely a winner.
