Halo was a story full of swoon and emotions! I loved Victor and Oliver - they completely melted my heart with all of their sweet and adorable moments.

It was easy to feel drawn to these men and their story. Neither Victor or Oliver were in a great place when they first met, and while they were opposites in a lot of way, they definitely clicked. I adored Oliver and how sassy and playful he could be, and he was just overall so wonderful with Victor. Their chemistry and connection were great, and I just couldn’t get enough of how sweet and open they were with each other.

I loved the mistaken identity beginning that led to the escort / client arrangement. Victor definitely needed someone like Oliver in his life, and it was great to see how he trusted him and how vulnerable they both were with each other. It was clear from early on that both of them felt more than they should, considering their circumstances.

The time expiration of their arrangement added some angst, and my heart definitely wasn’t ready for them to have to say goodbye to each other. I had a lot of faith in their connection and feelings for each other though, rooting for them to eventually find a sweet and happy ending together…

Halo was such a sweet, heartwarming story with a ton of swoony moments and just a pinch of angst. It was lighter than some of E.M. Lindsey’s other books, but it still had plenty of depth, great characters and lots of emotions. Victor and Oliver’s story was so wholesome and I didn’t want it to end - I really recommend giving this book a chance!

Moving and profound and deeply romantic. I love how the representation and kink was just part of the story, it’s perfect.

I had a hard time putting this book down today, including at work or even driving. I don't know how EM always manages to grab my emotions right off the bat but it always happens. I had started several KU books one after the other because none of them grabbed me and finally I was like, EM Lindsey never lets me down, so I started this one and I've just bought it because it's now honestly one of my favorites by them.

This is such a wonderful book. EM does a great job writing with sensitivity and writes such a story you become invested from the start. This is an age gap, mistaken identity book with so much going on.

EM Lindsey never disappoints but I think this time I found another favorite that I’ll be rereading time and time again. Bort Victor and Oliver are complex, unique characters with more similarities than you could ever imagine given their very different lives.
They are like light and dark. Oliver is beautiful, young, graceful, comes from a poor background, has very focused goals, and is unashamed about his body and his job that supports his studies. Victor is handsome but older, awkward on most days, and in pain on others when his cerebral palsy becomes unmanageable. He comes from riches but by the time he meets Oliver, he is just floating through life with no clear vision of what his future will look like. Barely recovering from a betrayal, he escapes his everyday life for a few days. An accidental meet cute brings these two men together and the attraction is instant. I adored the way they spent time together, I admired their raw honesty and melted from all the kindness they showed toward each other. I didn’t want them to be separated … but that is exactly what happened. I could not wait until they were back together again and let me tell you there were buckets full of angst on both sides. Leave it to Lindsey to write a scene where their first real physical interaction is dressing the other up … and make it sensual in a way I haven’t seen in books. Their intimate scenes are steamy but realistic, Lindsey never shies away from portraying their MCs in a true light with any physical disability. I forever adore both of these men, they are perfect for each other!

Best of this trope

This is not a trope that I generally gravitate yo which is why it took me so long to pick it up, and wow, do I regret that choice now. EM Lindsey yet again proves how much of an inclusive writer they are, this time, with cerebral palsy, you can feel the research put into the work to make sure it was conveyed to the readers correctly.
Victor & Oliver may have what starts off a fake relationship, but you can feel the emotions as they progress. They are both so kind and supportive it is no surprise that they are truly meant to be together at the end.
Another great read from EM, so if you are like me and not a fan of the escort/billionaire trope, fear not this is unlike any other I've come across.
