This book was amazing. I'm sure I would have liked it anyway but I listened to the audiobook which was just breathtaking. Zora Neale Hurston's writing was already pure poetry, but Ruby Dee (the reader) brought depth and emotion and meaning to the words that I don't think I could have pulled entirely on my own. An amazing story, beautiful language, and a stunning audiobook.

[update]
I've re-listened to this book at least twice since my original reading in Spring 2013. Even in my latest re-listen, I gasped aloud at parts. I still love it.
