I cried, this story was super close to home and so beautifully illustrated and written. The pacing was a bit scattered but it reflected the emotions of the main character and the chaos of anxiety and intense depression and loneliness.

This is a lovely introduction to what seems to be a soft series. A lot of little things happen without overwhelming the narrative. Watching Tasuku feel himself out and have the space to come to terms with himself was nice, and seeing background moments and characters evolve as well was wonderful. All the little moments add up to a cozy, welcoming story.

I really enjoy the artwork. It does a brilliant job at setting the mood and tone. Something about trying to find a place to belong and not being afraid to be yourself is really touching.

“It’s simple. I want to live a happy life with the person I love. That’s all I’m hoping for. That’s all I want. What’s wrong with wanting that?”

The book that would have changed my life in high school.
