The first half was really really long and kind of boring, I was really disappointed and it took me a while to finish the book, but the last third started to be fun and became more interesting, especially the ending, I am now really excited to see what happens next

Loved every minute of reading this! Magiford never disappoints!
We get to see so much in this book, the skills of vampire slayers, elite vampire powers, and even get to meet a dragon shifter!
Jade is so relatable with her social anxiety and terrible cooking, and Con, well Con is something else altogether.
We get to see cameos from old friends, Killian and the Drakes of course, and Hazel, and a certain black cat always getting chased by fae.
And the new side characters on Jade's team at the taskforce are a lot of fun too!
I just can't wait for book 2!!
