Holy crap! My iPad almost melted reading this delicious firefighter romance! If you’ve been following me for a bit, then you know that I LOVE any book that features a firefighter alpha, and this book certainly did NOT disappoint. I absolutely adored the snarky and hilarious banter between Jax and Becca which just made their sexual tension and chemistry go off the charts. They had me laughing, smiling, swooning, and fanning myself through the whole book.
“You? Follow directions?” Unlikely. From what he’d seen, she was more likely to issue them than take them. “It’s fine. I’ve got this.”
“All right, macho man. Have it your way.” She crossed her legs and settled back to watch, apparently deciding to let him have a go at it. “But if it falls apart, I’m holding you responsible.”
“It’s a table. How hard can it be?”
She smirked, her words taking on a playful edge. “Do you really want me to answer that?”
I have to admit that I am usually not a fan of second chance romances. I always feel like I’ve missed out on a huge chunk of the couples relationship, but in this book I never felt like that. More than enough history and previous emotions were brought up. You could see and feel how much Jax regretted leaving Becca ten years ago and how much he thought about her and still wanted her.
Then again he couldn’t fault her for it. He’d hurt her. Taken the coward’s way out like a selfish son of a bitch he was back then. Leaving the Mancinis was like being ripped from the only family he’d ever known. And if he’d called Frankie when they got settled upstate to say good-bye it would’ve been too real, too painful. So instead he’d done nothing, telling himself a clean break was best for them all.
He’d fucked things up royally when left. But he was back now, and one way or another, he was going to make it right. Despite what Becca said, it was clear they still had chemistry, and he has every intention of exploring it.
This is my first book by Jennifer Bonds and her third published book, but let me tell you, she writes like a seasoned author. I would have never guessed that she is fairly new to the romance book world. And the sex scenes are liable to cause a five alarm fire of their own. I love possessive alpha’s and Jax is right up my alley.

I really loved that they actually took the time to get to know each other beyond their obvious physical chemistry. I just can’t sing enough praise for this book or the writing. So my recommendation to you is to JUST READ IT AND LOVE IT! And then come back here and tell me your thoughts! I know I’m headed to Amazon right now to buy the first two books in this series.

I’ll give 3.5⭐️ for this read. Becca was hurt as a young teen and held onto that hurt into her young adulthood. I had to remember what it was like at those ages since it’s been some time for me. So I cut her some slack. Young wounds sometimes don’t heal well if at all and she just wouldn’t allow herself to move forward. That being said, she sure did make Jax work for it! Well not IT cause they did that a lot but he wanted more but she didn’t trust him. He clearly had changed and suffered childhood trauma that was wearing on him emotionally as well. It was so frustrating when he pulled the crap at her exhibition and I did feel for Becca. However, I think they way the author brought them back together was fitting. Overall a very cute spicy read.

While the relationship was very sweet and this was overall a nice read, I felt like there was so much more potential than what we got — their first relationship, the hero's family struggles, etc. Loved how involved their jobs were in the story, though!

I wanted to like this book, I really did.
I just couldn't get past how juvenile the heroine acted. The whole premise of the misunderstanding between the H/h was kind of lame. He stood her up for a date when she was 15 and he was 16. She never heard from him again (he had to leave town due to reasons out of his control) Yes, he could have called her to let her know what happened, but again he was a 16 year old kid. Apparently the heroine could not get past this slight, and 10 years later when he is back in town, acts like a frigging bratty child and gets back at him by standing him up and playing his message on a "look at the loser that got stood up" radio segment.
We spend the majority of the book with him chasing her, and her acting like a bitch. Having sex with him and then throwing him out when he is still naked. Same thing, over and over and over again. Why this guy kept going back for more was beyond me? I hated Becca, she didn't deserve Jax AT ALL.
She continually harped on how awful a person he was with gems like this...
"something she had a hard time associating with the kid who’d left her high and dry. Maybe he really had changed."
Let me just repeat, he STOOD HER UP FOR A FIRST DATE at the age of 16. He didn't cheat on her, he didn't hit her, he didn't try to murder her! This poor dude just could not win.
"She’d long ago accepted that happily ever after wasn’t for her. It was easier than opening herself up to heartache and despair again"
Yes, DESPAIR because she got stood up at the age of 15. Melodramatic much. Of course, just as things start to work out Jax pulls a douche move, and we are right back where we started. Luckily the book ended soon after so we didn't have to suffer through page after page of poor Saint Becca and her devastation.
So wow. I really didn't like this book at all...here's some "Gandy Candy" to make up for my less than positive outlook.

I actually ended up really enjoying this story, it was hot, entertaining and an easy read. As there is no major angst or heavy issues and the two main characters likable, especially Jax who from the outset is determined to prove to Becca he's grown up, changed and ultimately learned from his mistakes.
However I did have issues with Becca, especially to begin with as her reactions to Jax return and his determination to apologise and make amends are kind of childish, ok I get he hurt her but still in her shoes I wouldn't of kicked him out of my bed. That being said in the end she did grow on me, and I loved how determined Jax was to prove her wrong, and the dates they eventually had were very sweet and Jax certainly came off as a very believable character doing a difficult yet heroic job and I found myself really pulling for them to work things out and get that elusive happy ever after.
Overall a great read, and as a new author to me one I will be checking out again. As for this story, if you like your firefighter romance hot and sweet in equal measure you are sure to enjoy this.

Who can say no to a smoking hot firefighter?
Becca lost her heart to Jackson when she was a teenager, and he totally destroyed her when he left without a word.
Jackson is back and working as one of Brooklyn's finest, a sexy as sin firefighter.
Becca doesn't want him back in her life, but she can't fight that attraction to him. As hard as it is, she tries the love him and leave him thing, but it's just too hard (that's what she said :P ) There's a fine line between love and hate, and Becca is toeing that line.
Jackson is just - ugh, he's just all that. Sure, he came across as an arrogant SOB at times, but really it is all in good fun, and he can poke fun at himself just as good as the next guy.
And let me tell you - when these two get together is is 5 alarm hot!
I loved that he wasn't all sexy smirks and hot banter with him. We saw the darker side of his profession and how it affected him.
This is the first book that I have read by Ms Bond, but I know I will be keeping an eye out for more in the future.
The story was fast paced, the story flowed seamlessly, her characters are charming and witty, the heroine wasn't one of those "why does he like me" whiney girls and she didn't just jump right back into our hero's arms.
I enjoyed Seducing The Fireman and look forward to seeing what Ms Bond brings us next.

Jax has been a bit of a rolling stone throughout his life. Not from choice, more because his alcoholic father was keeping one step ahead of the bills. He never felt more settled than when he lived in Brooklyn. He had friends, the Mancini family, and he had Frankie. He hated leaving her behind but he didn't get much choice in the matter. As the new LT at the local fire station, he's hoping that he can find her and make amends.
Becca (AKA Frankie) is a struggling photojournalist. She has a day job but dreams making it to the big time. The other recurrign dream is Jax. He's the main reason no guy makes it past a 3rd date. When she bumps into him in a local bar and he doesn't recognise her she decides to get some revenge. But afterwards there is no victory dance, just a bad taste in her mouth.
But when he inveigles himself back into her life, they keep ending up naked!!! Will he get through her self imposed 3 date limit? Can he protect her from the greatest threat to their fledgling romance - him?
I loved the way they had almost had love the first time round and through no fault of their own were ripped apart. They are both strong characters (I hate wimpy women who can;t make a decision on their own!) Jax was strong, alpha to the core, but core than happy to prostrate himself and make himself the butt of any ribbing from his colleagues to get what he wanted! Becca was the most hesitant to get involved but ultimately was the one who ended up being all in and fighting for what she wanted.

Jax and Becca have a history...of him standing her up. So, she sees him again and decides to do the same, although to take it further with a little humiliation and some throwing him out of her apartment naked mixed in. The problem? He keeps coming back, and somewhere along the way manages to show her that he is a nice guy. That he is serious and that he wants her.
I liked their chemistry, I liked their story, I liked that they each knew one another and liked one another for who they were as people. I also liked that the one who had the doubts wasn't Becca...once she was in, she was in. Jax had the doubts, understandable ones, but still coming from him.
The writing was solid, the characters were good...at the beginning, I was not sure how i felt about the way Becca treated Jax, but it worked and was no longer bothering me by the end.

Seducing the Fireman is the third book in the risky business series by Jennifer Bonds. I have not read any of the previous books in the series yet, but it is my understanding that they are really standalones and I don't think that any of the characters overlap. Either way, I had no problem following the story or characters in Seducing the Fireman. It was a nicely wrapped up contemporary romance. I had a great time reading Seducing the Fireman. It made me want to read the other books in the Risky Business series.
Seducing the Fireman is told in dual narrative between Becca (AKA Frankie) and Jax. I really liked Jax. I think the book name is a bit misleading because it sure seemed to me that Jax was the one trying to win Becca over the whole time. She is a stubborn little thing. A bit too stubborn in my opinion. I liked her, but honestly she dealt out her fair share of abuse to Jax- from standing him up, to kicking him out of her house, to constantly leading him on, I felt bad for the poor guy. But he was never once deterred, and Becca is a good person, she is just a little confusing when it comes to her love life.
I loved the chemistry between Jax and Becca. I loved that they knew each other growing up and that Jax remembers so much about her. It was really cute. They were very wrapped up in their little world though. I kind of wish that we incorporated more of some secondary characters and that so much of the book wasn't just between the two of them. I am all for some alone scenes, and romance time but they felt a bit isolated all the time. It wasn't a big deal, but it was a thought that I was left with after reading. I also have to say that I don't love the cover for the book. This is not something directed at this book in particular, but rather at the Brazen line as a whole. I feel like all of their covers look the same, and while I love a guys chest as much as the next lady, I wish that they didn't just have a chest in a different color for all of their books because, to me, it sends the message that all of the books are the same, and I don't think they are at all. I love the stories in this line, and I think the covers are doing them a disservice.
Bottom line: Seducing the Fireman is a fun and flirty read. I completely fell in love with Jax (and in like with Becca). If you like your romances in quick, down and dirty reads, this is the perfect book for you. Even if you are new to the series, check this one out. I really enjoyed it.
